37 Shades of Late shows upcoming departures for a transit line and stop in the app and on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. It covers San Francisco (every Muni line) and Seattle (King County Metro, Sound Transit and the Seattle Streetcar).
Getting started
- Open the app, tap the line at the top, choose San Francisco or Seattle, then pick a line, direction and stop. The app starts in the city it thinks you're closest to.
- Tap Save to keep it in your favorites. Tap a favorite to show it in the app and on your widgets.
- Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit or Customize, then add the 37 Shades of Late widget.
Questions
Why are some times green? Green times are live predictions with a bus assigned. Grey times are scheduled estimates for trips that don't have a bus yet.
The widget isn't updating. iOS decides how often widgets refresh to save battery. Tap the refresh button on the widget or open the app to update it right away.
The map doesn't show my bus. The map only shows buses that are on the route. A bus waiting at the yard or finishing another trip appears once it starts its run.
How fresh is the data? San Francisco predictions come from 511.org and refresh about every 70 seconds; Seattle's come from OneBusAway and refresh every minute. The thin bar along the bottom of the map counts down to the next update.
